This is the final character design for the two protagonists of my animation, Simmie and Bram.
Simmie is an excitable and outgoing character who has a love for experiencing new things. He is very expressive and tends to act on impulse. I chose this turquoise for Simmie’s main colour as it is a mixture of sky blue and yellow, two colours which conveys freedom and enthusiasm. The vibrancy of it matches his personality.
Bram is a reserved, calm and collected character who looks out for Simmie on his frequent endeavours. Though not very expressive with his emotion, he is never hesitant to offer comfort and support. Bram’s main colour is a deep blue as it connotes feelings of serenity and strength.
This is a practice walk-cycle loop for Simmie to see how I can go about making a frame by frame animation. From making this gif, I found that animating in photoshop is straightforward enough and therefore, I might be able to use it for creating artwork and animating.
