I have been making my backgrounds using Adobe Illustrator. I drew a few scamps of the backgrounds that I needed a more detailed version of so that tracing on the software would be easier. Here is my first scene as an example:

For this particular scene, I used two panels as I will be panning the stage. To digitize this artwork, I am using an artboard that is twice the width of a normal 1920 by 1080 pixel panel and so the panel becomes 3840px by 1080px.

To save time in some areas, I created the entrance in detail for the close-up scene and duplicated it into the wide shot of the museum so that I would have the same quality of detail in the door without having to repeat the process. I also re-used the brick pattern across scenes to make things easier.
