Top & Tailing

This is when you clean up a recording by trimming the beginning and end of an audio clip to leave only what is needed.

Equalisation (EQ)

Equalisation controls how loud or quiet the frequencies of a sound are. It can be broken down into 3 main types: peak, shelved and pass filters.

Peak EQ

Peak

Peaking EQ allows you to heighten or decrease the amplitude of frequencies and expand how far outside the chosen frequency will be affected. Where the point is selected, it increases and then decreases

Shelving EQ

Shelving EQ

Shelving EQ allows an increase or decrease in the amplitude of frequencies without tapering off like the peaking EQ.
