I traced over photographs from the science museum, overlapping them on a single piece of tracing paper to end up with a design of overlapping shapes and etched it onto my page as guidelines.

Using this template, I completed an analogous painting with colours stemming from the orange region of the colour wheel. To complete this painting, I made my desired colour and filled in all of the spaces that I wanted to be that colour. I repeated this process for the other colours, gradually building up the artwork.

The acrylic paint allowed for a balance between a thick consistency to the paint and a watercolour-resemblant consistency and so I was able to alter the saturation of each colour however I wanted.
