Using the feedback from our client, I found that linking Eadweard Muybridge back to Kingston in the animation was a topic that I would be interested in exploring. Here is my mindmap:

I felt that a way to achieve this would be to have Muybridge as the subject and be travelling through Kingston as his work is showcased. I would use photographs of well-known places in Kingston as the background and have them morph into his famous photographs as his landscape documentation was a large part of his career.

I looked up some popular landmarks in Kingston so that the locations would be recognisable to the audience and they would be able to somewhat relate to the animation themselves.

halls

Kingston Guildhall & State Capital Building, California, Sacramento

I chose Kingston Guildhall and Clattern Bridge specifically as I felt that I could morph them into the photographs that look similar.

I will go into these locations in Kingston to take my own photographs as it is local and I’ll be able to get the exact angles that I want as well as my own primary source of images. Other scenes in my animation will feature Kingston Museum and Barkman’s Computers so I will photograph those locations as well.
