I looked at some images showcasing the main points of a walk cycle to get an idea of how I would get my character to walk. Here are a few images:

From this bit of previous research, I gathered that the walk cycle for one side of the body’s movement would need 5 keyframes: contact, recoil/low-point, passing, high-point and contact again.

I’m drawing the positions in photoshop using a scan in photoshop.

I drew a reversed version for reference so that when I do the second set of 5 frames for the other side of the body, I can reuse the frames I have already drawn but inverse the arm and leg to save time.
